My First Con! ;o

Helluuuhhh,
I, as usual, haven't been on top of things hence lack of posts buuuut I do have many things to write about! I've also got lots of new experiences to write about and projects coming up to consume my time!

So, last Saturday I attended MCM Expo at the Excel Centre in London and it was quite an interesting experience! Sadly, due to certain circumstances that I ended up in, I would have to say that my perception of conventions have now been changed, however I'm trying to treat my recent experience as a one-off. It certainly hasn't put me off of going to conventions in the future!
I won't go into detail but let me just put the words: 'unwanted company' out there.

The day was probably also a little harder to get through than I expected due to getting a couple of hours sleep the night before and then waking at around 4.30/5AM in order to get my make-up looking perfect. The 1.5 hour journey there and back may also have taken a toll.

Regardless of these negatives, the atmosphere and sheer positivity was enough to make my first con really enjoyable! Everything was so lively and I really felt as though I was with hundreds of people who, 'are my people' as it were. Although, I had a loads of fun going round the stalls and getting some really awesome stuff, the outside area of the convention was by far my favourite part. Seeing all the cosplayers and their creations was inspiring and has influenced me with ideas for my next cosplays! There'll probably be some news coming up about that soon!

We didn't actually stay there particularly long because after about 4 hours we were all looking half asleep - note: I went with 8 others hence the 'we'.

I know this wasn't a particularly long post - even I expected it to be longer. Also, apologies for the lack of pictures. It didn't really occur to me when I was actually there to take pictures. I have one of two on my phone, I believe.

Although I won't be going to MCM in May, I will most certainly be going in October! c;

I'll post soon!

Just a little bit of mumbo jumbo...

It's been a rather long time since I last blogged, admittedly this has been due to having an uneventful past few weeks and being sick - 1 month and counting...
However, I do have maaaaaany ideas for upcoming posts! With MCM Expo coming up in the next month or so, I have a lot of make-up and costume related ideas! I'm currently in a small amount of panic about my Wendy Marvell cosplay seeing as though I've barely started the dress and I have a ton of revision for upcoming exams (damn you, Year 11!)
Nevertheless, I have faith that this will all come together by the time Comic Con comes around. I have also recently decided on a cosplay for the second day of MCM Expo which will be Izumi from 'Love Stage!!'

Choosing this cosplay is a pretty big thing for me because it will be the first time trying out contact lenses as part of the outfit. As long as the opticians say that my eyes are all good and suitable for contacts then it's hopefully (as long as I don't chicken out) all gonna go ahead!

For now, that's all I've gotta say. Next post won't be me babbling, don't worry!

The 6 (And A Half) Teeth Extraction Experience & Advice!

So, over the past week my poor self has been through quiiiiteeee a lot!
Last Thursday I had 6 (and a half) teeth extracted which wasn't half as bad as everyone made it out to be, but I have been infected with a cold (well they say sharing is caring, thanks Daddy), hence why I haven't really posted. I think I may also be going a little stir crazy from being indoors for 5 days.

Anyway, I thought I'd make a short-ish post about my experience at the hospital. The only reason I'm writing about this is because I am someone who has been having nerves and anxiety over having teeth extracted for the past 3 years. Among many people, teeth extraction - and dental work in general - is something that many people worry about and since I'm one of those people, I thought I'd (try) and help those who are in the same situation that I was in less than a week ago!

Firstly, when I woke at 6am, I had a lot of anxiety and nerves as the realisation set in that that was the day I'd have the operation. With positive, happy thoughts I managed to calm myself quite a bit.
Side note: I should point out that I went under general anaesthetic for my operation (so I was completely unaware of my surroundings when my teeth were extracted), therefore I cannot speak for those who are having teeth removed when they are awake!

Aaaanyway, skipping ahead a bit, I managed to keep quite calm about the whole thing using the same technique of happy thoughts and calm breathing. Admittedly, as I was wheeled to the room where they'd give me the anaesthetic, I got a little tearful and kept saying to the anaesthetist that I, “don't want the general anaesthetic!”
Nevertheless, before I knew it, the room was spinning and I was out.

Waking up was... fun? I was confused as to where I was and I felt as though someone had pumped up my lower lip with air. However, the most amazing thing that I noticed was how it felt as though not a second had passed since I was first knocked out.
The time after that I spent on the children's ward was quite nice. I had time to think about the whole experience and thoroughly regret my tearful pleading to stop the anaesthetic from taking its effect. ( ᵕ́ૢ‧̮ᵕ̀ૢ)‧̊·*

The pain after was almost nothing but again, it depends on the individual so it's possible that others may have more pain than I did. Although I did have a supernumary tooth (an extra, weirdo tooth - again, sharing is caring, thanks Nanny for the weird-tooth-genetic and thanks again, Daddy, for passing it to me) removed from inside my gum and stitches and I've had a bit of swelling but barely any pain. I suppose that it, once again depends on the individual... buuuut anyway!

If I had to give 3 tips about how to 'survive' tooth extraction it would be:
1. Have happy thoughts - think of good experience/s that make you smile or think about things that are coming up to look forward to!
2. Breathe slowly & keep calm - this will most definitely help you relax!
3. Be prepared for a little bit of post-extraction discomfort but don't think you'll be rolling about in agony - because you won't!

I'm not sure if this post will be particularly useful but I hope it helps a few people!
Okie dokie, bye! xx (*´꒳`*)

Wendy Marvell - Make-up Demo (& other cosplay related things!)

In preparation for the London Comic Con in October, I went out and had a bit of a splurge on make-up for my Wendy Marvell cosplay! In brief, for those who don't know, Wendy Marvell is a character from the anime Fairy Tail. This is what she looks like...

I've also been having a bit of a play around with the make-up too! In this post I'm going to - as briefly as possible - talk about what I'll be using.

Before showing you what I'm using, I'll just say that the make-up hasn't all been bought recently, I've had the majority of it for quite a long time!

So this is everything! I will list the products I'm using:
ღ MAC Studio Fix Foundation - NW15
ღ MAC Studio Fix Concealer - NW15
ღ Maybelline Coverstick
ღ Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - 001 Transparent
ღ Urban Decay Naked 2 Pallette
ღ Benefit Magic Ink Jet-Black Liquid Liner
ღ Maybelline Big Eyes Eyeliner
ღ Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara
ღ Eylure False Lashes - Dramatic - No. 202
ღ 2True Eyeliner Easy Glide - Shade 3 (dark blue)
ღ Benefit Rockateur Blush
ღ Borjois Blush - 95 Jasper Rose
ღ Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter - Strawberry Shortcake
ღ Brushes & Sponges of sorts - I can't remember the individual names!

I'm not going to do a step-by-step in this post purely because I haven't completely worked out everything and I have to get use to applying the false eyelashes! It's my first ever time using them and, although I'm quickly getting the hang of it, it's still not quite right... But here's a picture of my first try~

I still also need to work out how to do my blue eyebrows (you know, because Wendy has blue hair)...
The blue eyeliner pencil is actually going to be used for my eyebrows since there were no blue eyebrow pencils... (>.<)

Aaaaaanyway, I may do another post with a kind of... make-up tutorial? I might also do a post reviewing some of the new make-up I got like the lip butter!
Also, I'm in the process of deciding a second cosplay for the Sunday of MCM Expo but I feel as though I'm setting  the bar too high because I've barely even started on the dress for this cosplay. Currently, my aim is to also do a Noire cosplay from Fire Emblem Awakening but it's gonna take a looooot of time and I have just under a month before going back to school (and into Year 11, eeek!)

Okay, I'll see you next post! ( ᵕ́ૢ‧̮ᵕ̀ૢ)‧̊·*

Lush Bath Bombs Review!

I was struggling to think of an idea for a first proper blog post until I saw all the pictures I took of the Lush bath bombs that I used on holiday!
Now, you see... I'm a mega Lushie, but in my house we don't have a bath so I used my holiday that I went on last week as a wonderful excuse to hoard bath bombs.
Previously I have used bath bombs at my grandparents house but I've only tried a few. When it comes down to Lush I have a tendency to go towards the non-bath related products (obviously!).
Anyway, let's begin!

The first bath bomb that I used was nothing particularly special - it was Sakura.
My only incentive for buying this one was the smell. I have the Rub Rub Rub sea salt scrub which smells exactly the same.
The colour of the bath turned a murky white when it dissolved, so as I just said, nothing special. Nevertheless, the orange blossom scent made up for the plain colour!

Next - Fizzbanger!
“Don't judge a book by its cover” - the perfect saying for this bath bomb. When looking at Fizzbanger, it looks like your typical one-colour, decent-smelling bath bomb. But wait! This citrus-y bath bomb has a green centre and popping candy! There is also a little surprise in the centre too! This may be a personal opinion or just the sensitivity of my nose but, I found that the scent of this bath bomb was rather strong - yet I didn't feel as though I was suffocating in a sea of lemon-y goodness!

The Phoenix Rising... ~Fall Out Boy - The Phoenix plays in the distance...~
This next bath bomb had a rather disappointing outcome. When I first put this little guy in the bath, I was in love with the colour and scent given off. The apple and cinnamon fragrance was heavenly and really reminded me of Autumn - my favourite season!
After about 20 minutes I noticed that my nails turned a pinky-purple. It didn't bother me because honestly, they looked kinda nice with a girly tint. When I emerged from the bath was when things went from “aw yee, relaxin'” to “OH, FUDGESTICKS”.
Taking the plug out, it was noticeable that the bath tub had been stained. And that I'd left a pink residue on the clean white towels...
Long story short, we had to use about a bajillion cleaning products and used so much water that my uncle had a cold shower...

My previous favourite - Dragon's Egg
It wouldn't have been right for me to go on holiday without buying Dragon's Egg. To me, this bath bomb smells of sherbet. And I love sherbet.
Sure, the colour looks... er... slightly 'icky' but when I emerged from the bath looking slightly bronzed from the glitter, all my worries seemed miles away... Only joking, if anything the glitter was a pain in my behind. I had to wash the bathtub, and from the incident the day before with the Phoenix Rising, I'd had it with cleaning out leftover residue...

Finally, Twilight!
Quite possibly my favourite bath bomb of the holiday. I'm not sure there were any negatives about this bath bomb. There was only very little cleaning I had to do with the leftover glitter but that wasn't an issue.
I adore the colour that Twilight gave off. Watching it fizz away was also very relaxing. Not to forget the lavender scent was heavenly and made me want to sleep...
~I just looked up and apparently it is made to make you feel relaxed and sleepy!~ (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

Finally I've come to the end of my fairly long bath bombs review. I actually did buy two others that I didn't use - Brightside and Ickle Baby Bot (which I've had once before). When I use them, I might do another review!

Anywho, if you've got to the end of this post, then thank you for dealing with my ramblings! ˚‧*♡ॢ˃̶̤̀◡˂̶̤́♡ॢ*‧˚
Okie dokie, I'll post again soon!

Hi! ♡(.◜ω◝.)♡

This certainly is not the first blog I've ever had, so I'm most definitely not new to blogging but anyway, hello!
First posts are always somewhat of a flop - with awkward introductions, etc etc. So I'll keep it short. If you wanna know my nickname, interests, blahblahblah, check my profile!
I think this blog will mostly consist of my experiences, yadayadayada. So yeah!
Okay, bye! xo
