Egg White Pore Foam - Review! ♥

A few weeks ago I made an order from yesstyle.co.uk in which I bought a few Korean beauty and skincare products. Reviews on some of the other products will be coming soon!

I did actually order two different skincare items but sadly, one was no longer in stock. Nevertheless, one arrived and it's the very one I will be reviewing today.

Some may consider this review more of a first impressions as I've only been using the product for a few days.

Anyway, since I haven't actually said yet, the item I bought was the Skinfood Egg White Pore Foam.

Now, to many the concept of having egg white in a product may sound fairly unappealing however for treating spots, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improving dull and/or dry skin, egg whites are known to be a good solution.

I'd heard a lot of good things about the Skinfood brand and so was eager to try this out when it finally arrived - when I say 'finally' I mean it... this thing took over 3 weeks to arrive ;-;

The Skinfood brand is known for using natural food ingredients in their products and is popular in Korea and becoming increasingly popular in other parts of the world.

The first time I applied this product I found that only a tiny amount of this product was needed as it lathers up very quickly. Since this is a cleanser rather than a mask, it means that it needs to be spread around and rubbed into the face rather than be applied as a layer.

Washing it off was very easy but be aware that this stuff will hurt like hell if it gets in your eyes! I'd definitely suggest applying some kind of toner and cleanser after using this product as I found it left my skin rather, not necessarily dry, but dry in a smooth sense? That probably doesn't make sense but needless to say, if you try out this product you'll probably understand what I'm taking about.

Recently I've had many spots from not only stress but also being ill and having lost motivation to actually look after my skin. This product hasn't massively reduced the appearance of my spots but it's definitely reduced the redness and kept the rest of my skin clear of any new ones.
Once again, however, I have only tried this product for a few days so I may not see the full effects of it until I have used it for a few weeks.

But, I am pretty impressed with this product. I wouldn't say it has any exceptional qualities that make it stand out from other products I've used but it lives up to another cleanser that I use that has a very similar formulation (Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish).

I'll possibly update this post once I've had some more experience using this product but for now, I'll give this product a 7/10. It does exactly what it's meant to and does brighten complexion however I haven't noticed any miraculous changes to my skin.

That's it for now! Look out for more Korean beauty reviews coming very soon!

Mehron Face Paints Review!

In order to get the perfect blue skin, I recently ordered face paints for my Nina Cortex cosplay! The colours I ordered were:
♥Mehron Paradise Paint in White
♥Mehron Paradise Paint in Light Blue (Pastel range)
♥Mehron Paradise Paint in Light Green (Pastel range)
♥Mehron Paradise Paint in Black

It was my first time working with face paints so I didn't have any previous experience with other face paint brands or any face paint for that matter. I'd heard from a friend's parents who did face painting at carnivals that the Mehron brand was a good pick. There have also been many good reviews I've seen on other websites.

When the paints first came, the first thing that I found was that they smelt absolutely amazing! I know it seems unusual to say, however if you're covering your body with paint, you don't want it to smell awful. If you're wearing the face paint for several hours like I will be during MCM Expo in October, then the pleasant smell is definitely a +1. Oh, I should have mentioned the smell is some kind of coconut-y, cocoa butter-y mix. At first it seems quite strong but when you actually apply it, it is very subtle.

I decided to do a make-up test for the cosplay and initially I wasn't all that impressed. I was using a sponge to apply it and I found that it wasn't giving me much coverage, however after switching to a brush to apply the paint, I found that the coverage was amazing!

To get the right colour for Miss Cortex's skin, I had to apply several layers which meant that once I'd ended up applying all of it, I was left with a fairly stiff face and it felt fairly cake-y. Despite this, the paint didn't show any signs of cracking which surprised me as the dry, stiff feeling made it seem as though it would!

This paint definitely needs some kind of sealant to ensure it doesn't come off as I found that if I brushed past any surface then I'd leave blue-green marks.

Here are some make-up tests!~
I applied the layers of colour in this order: white, light green, light blue and then black.

(These are only demo tests! The final look will be much better! ♥)

When I experiment with these paints again soon, I'll be sure to do individual swatches of each of the colours!

I hope this post was somewhat helpful to some people!

Have a great day,

Cup o' Coffee Exfoliating Face Mask Review (ॢ˘⌣˘ ॢ⑅)

I should begin this post with saying:

Whoever came up with the idea for this face mask...
I will find you and I will hug you.
You truly are a blessing and I love you.

I wouldn't say that I'm an excessive coffee drinker but the concept of drinking coffee does appeal to me and I will drink it from time to time.

When I was browsing through all the new products at Lush last Friday, I came across this little beauty. The name was what caught my eye. It sounds so... dinky? Probably not the best word but it fits in my mind.

Anyway, my liking of coffee combined with the appealing name made me pick up one of these little pots of heaven.

So when I first got home, as you do, I opened it up, had a little sniff again and, honestly, I was rather overwhelmed by the scent. It was rather strong and I was wondering if I could stomach having it all over my face for 10-15 minutes.

When I finally tried it today I was a little nervous because sickly scents often make me feel quite nauseous. However, it was a lovely surprise to find that the smell was kinda strong but also kinda subtle. I did notice it but it wasn't overpowering! I actually felt quite relaxed while waiting for it to set on my face.

Another positive was that I only needed a very small amount to cover my entire face!

When it finally came to washing it off, I added a bit of water and rubbed the mask around my face a bit.
I'm not totally sure if this mask is meant to be quite a harsh exfoliater but it was for me ~ this wasn't a bad thing though!

Once I washed the mask off, I found that my face was noticeably smoother and softer. Initially, I expected to find that it would either make my skin smoother or softer (but not both!)

But, I have underestimated its power.

Without a doubt, this product is going to become my new exfoliater. Thankfully, with my skin type I don't need to exfoliate too frequently so this product would be perfect to use about once a week.

For coffee lovers and Lushies alike, this is definitely a staple item.
I would highly recommend it!

More product reviews coming very soon!

Hope you're having a lovely day!

Lush Oxford Street Opening! ˭̡̞(◞⁎˃ᆺ˂)◞*✰

For many Lushies like myself, April 23rd/24th 2015 was a momentous day. With 100+ new Lush products being released, there was no way I was gonna miss this opportunity to get my hands on a few new (some even exclusive!) products.

I wasn't there for the actual opening of the store in the morning, but after school I took a trip down to the new 3 level store. I was happily surprised to arrive at the shop and find out that I would not have to queue for ages. It was nice to see some familiar faces there from other Lush branches that I usually go to.

Anyway, back to the actual products! Across the different floors, everything was nicely organised into the different categories - i.e. bath goodies upstairs, fragrances and massage products downstairs and general body care and makeup on the ground floor.

I really could go on forever about all the little new changes and new things but I'm gonna try and keep this short and sweet!

The changes that I noticed:
♥ The increased sizes of bottles and tubs.
♥ New makeup - e.g. blush and eyeshadow pigments.
♥ Showder - Shower powder! I'm yet to try some.
♥ Paper Soap - Need I say more? Yet another thing I've still yet to try.
♥ Hot oil hair treatments - I'm seriously going to need some of them when I dye my hair in the summer...
♥ New/reshaped luxury bath melts/oils! - Only £2 each so you can imagine my reaction.
♥ Lots of new products! - There are faaaaaar too many to list, heh...

I picked up a fair few things, both new and old. I'm likely to do quite a few reviews on many of the products very soon!

Old!
♥ Celestial moisturiser
♥ R&B hair moisturiser
♥ Ro's Argan body conditioner
♥ Pink Peppermint (renamed! - originally called Fairtrade foot lotion - it's still Fairtrade!)
♥ Lullaby solid shampoo (with added glitter... not a massive fan of having glitter in my hair)

New!
♥ Oral Pleasure toothy tabs (Eek! - naughty name!)
♥ Salted Coconut hand scrub
♥ Love & Light hand cream
♥ Lord of Misrule shower cream (aka~ the divine one)
♥ Rub Rub Rub solid scrub
♥ 93,000 Miles shower jelly
♥ Cup o' Coffee exfoliating face mask
♥ Rosie Cheeks face mask
♥ Luxury bath melts/oils - I pretty much got one of each - listing all the individual names seems somewhat unnecessary!

As always, the staff there were reaaaaally really nice & made the 2 hours that I spent in the shop even more enjoyable!

Anyway, I could probably go on forever about my experience in the new shop but I'm pretty sure I covered all the important stuff! If I remember anything else I'll be sure to update this post!

I'll be posting reviews on some of the new products soon ~ so check back here later!

Much love,

EOS Fairy Blue Lenses Review

So recently, as part of my Prompto Argentum cosplay, I ordered some contact lenses from Honeycolor! Having used the EOS brand before, and being really happy with the lenses, I played safe and ordered another pair from the brand.

I chose the EOS Fairy Blue lenses based on the fact that I'd seen good reviews on these lenses and I felt that they'd (hopefully) look good on my eyes.

I'm extremely happy to say that these lenses have not disappointed me!

4.5/5

For my Prompto cosplay, these are perfect. The only downside is my natural eye being quite visible underneath - It would have been ideal if these lenses had more blue on the inner part of the lenses.

5/5

I have no words to express how comfortable these lenses are! I'm currently wearing them and I can barely feel them. I'd say they can easily be worn for about 8 hours without any feeling of dryness or irritation. Particularly for someone with fairly sensitive eyes like myself, these lenses are ideal. They would be absolutely amazing for any long-day conventions.

2/5

These lenses are definitely ones that I wouldn't define as 'dolly' lenses. In comparison to the my iris, they are bigger, however, I didn't buy these lenses with the intention for them to enlarge my eyes. I wouldn't advise using these lenses for any 'big-eye' anime type characters. Personally, I would rate the size of these lenses 5/5 - they're the size that I'd hoped them to be.

Overall, I am super happy with these lenses. They are absolutely perfect for my Prompto cosplay and I would definitely buy these again! ˚✧₊⁎( ˘ω˘ )⁎⁺˳

2015 - A month late...

Hello once again!
It's been a long time since I last posted. Year 11 has been pretty hectic aaand... I may have forgotten about this blog a tiddly bit.

Anyway, It's a little past the "Happy New Year!"s, but I hope everyone's first month of 2015 hasn't been too bad. Mine's been unnecessarily stressful, but I'm trying to look past it.
I'm about 3 months off exams and then a great long Summer with many cosplans and such that I can't wait to share with the everyone!
Hint hint: Borderlands 2.

I am going to try and do little posts here and there between all the other things going on - this blog can't be like all the other forgotten ones I've had!

Okie dokie, bye bye!

P.S. My blog name and URL has changed from Dramaticneko to Faenyxx simply because it sounded too cute for me.
If you see the tags about 'Dramatic Neko's...', that was me, just... under a different URL. Now they'll be called: 'Faenyxx's...'
What I said above may make no sense... That was worded terribly...

P.P.S. My blog has now changed to Luxnhope (just in case anyone was confused)!

My First Con! ;o

Helluuuhhh,
I, as usual, haven't been on top of things hence lack of posts buuuut I do have many things to write about! I've also got lots of new experiences to write about and projects coming up to consume my time!

So, last Saturday I attended MCM Expo at the Excel Centre in London and it was quite an interesting experience! Sadly, due to certain circumstances that I ended up in, I would have to say that my perception of conventions have now been changed, however I'm trying to treat my recent experience as a one-off. It certainly hasn't put me off of going to conventions in the future!
I won't go into detail but let me just put the words: 'unwanted company' out there.

The day was probably also a little harder to get through than I expected due to getting a couple of hours sleep the night before and then waking at around 4.30/5AM in order to get my make-up looking perfect. The 1.5 hour journey there and back may also have taken a toll.

Regardless of these negatives, the atmosphere and sheer positivity was enough to make my first con really enjoyable! Everything was so lively and I really felt as though I was with hundreds of people who, 'are my people' as it were. Although, I had a loads of fun going round the stalls and getting some really awesome stuff, the outside area of the convention was by far my favourite part. Seeing all the cosplayers and their creations was inspiring and has influenced me with ideas for my next cosplays! There'll probably be some news coming up about that soon!

We didn't actually stay there particularly long because after about 4 hours we were all looking half asleep - note: I went with 8 others hence the 'we'.

I know this wasn't a particularly long post - even I expected it to be longer. Also, apologies for the lack of pictures. It didn't really occur to me when I was actually there to take pictures. I have one of two on my phone, I believe.

Although I won't be going to MCM in May, I will most certainly be going in October! c;

I'll post soon!
